Authorities in Paris, Missouri, have confirmed that a man connected to a homicide investigation was found dead Sunday evening following a tense standoff with law enforcement.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, SWAT officers entered a residence around 4:50 p.m. and discovered the suspect, 57-year-old Charles Armour of Paris, deceased inside.

Earlier in the day, officers from the Highway Patrol and the Ralls County Sheriff’s Office had been working together to locate Armour, who was wanted as a person of interest in an ongoing homicide case.
When authorities made entry into the home, Armour allegedly opened fire, striking a Randolph County deputy. The injured deputy was quickly transported to a nearby hospital and is expected to recover from non-life-threatening injuries.
The incident prompted a massive law enforcement response, with agencies including the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, and others surrounding the home near West Monroe and Walnut Street as the situation developed.
