The Monroe community is reeling after a triple homicide early Tuesday morning claimed the lives of a young father, his 2-year-old daughter, and a close friend. Authorities say the victims — 26-year-old Jaborris Simpson, his daughter Jhersi Simpson, and Jamal Bosley — were all found shot to death inside a home on Grammont Street.
According to the Monroe Police Department, officers responded to the residence around 2:30 a.m. on October 28, 2025, where they discovered the victims suffering from gunshot wounds to the head. Investigators have described the crime as “targeted and deeply disturbing.”

During a Tuesday afternoon press conference, Police Chief Vic Zordan confirmed that detectives have developed strong leads and believe the suspect and victims were acquainted. However, as of Tuesday evening, no arrests had been made.
Chief Zordan condemned the killing, referring to the suspect as a “baby killer” and stressing the urgency of bringing those responsible to justice. He also cautioned residents against retaliation, warning that interference could jeopardize the ongoing investigation.
Monroe Mayor Friday Ellis called the killings “a moral wake-up call,” describing the death of little Jhersi as “a devastating reminder of the consequences of evil intentions.” Both officials emphasized the community’s need to unite against violence and support the victims’ grieving families.
Authorities confirmed that drugs may have played a role in the deadly incident, though the exact motive remains under investigation.
