The Morgantown community is in mourning following the tragic passing of 20-year-old Kaden Scott Farrell, whose life was cut short on November 1, 2025. His sudden death has brought deep sorrow to his family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Born on March 27, 2005, in Fort Riley, Kansas, Kaden grew up surrounded by love and support from his parents — Corey and Jesse Farrell of Newburg, WV, and Lauren Roberts and her husband Neil of Morgantown. He was a devoted brother to Eli Farrell, Madylyn Farrell, Elijah Roberts, and Ian Roberts, and the treasured grandson of Bernard and Nancy Hershman Farrell of Newburg, as well as Mike Stalnaker and Shelley and Dave Garlitz of Morgantown.

SUPPORT THE FAMILY - GOD BLESS YOU

Kaden was remembered as an energetic and compassionate young man who brought joy wherever he went. He had a passion for sports, excelling in basketball, and enjoyed playing golf, baseball, and fishing. A loyal Los Angeles Dodgers fan, he loved the game just as much as he loved sharing moments with friends and family — whether on the court or around a dinner table with his favorite foods, from pizza to mac and cheese.

Friends describe Kaden as someone who made others feel valued and loved. He was the person people could always turn to for a laugh, a kind word, or a helping hand. His passing has left an irreplaceable void in the lives of those closest to him.

Private services will be held to celebrate Kaden’s life. The Farrell and Roberts families have expressed their gratitude for the overwhelming support they’ve received and have set up a way for those wishing to contribute to funeral expenses through the Smith Funeral & Cremation Care website. Donations can be made via the “DONATE NOW” button on Kaden’s Memorial Page or by calling (304) 292-9494.
