
Authorities have confirmed that 31-year-old Trevor Waddell, of Braidwood, Illinois, was the victim of a fatal crash involving a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle on Illinois Route 17 Sunday morning.
According to Kankakee County Coroner Bob Gessner, Waddell was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 10:18 a.m. after sustaining fatal injuries in the collision. His family has since been notified of the tragic loss.
The Illinois State Police Troop 5 reported that emergency crews were called to the crash site around 9:49 a.m., near South 3120W Road, just west of Kankakee. Due to the severity of the accident, Route 17 was shut down for several hours while investigators examined the scene. The roadway was reopened shortly after 2 p.m.
At this time, the exact cause of the collision remains under investigation, and authorities have not yet released further details about the events leading up to the crash.
