Authorities have identified Hailey Nichole Jennings, 27, of St. Louis, as the victim in a tragic murder-suicide discovered Friday evening in Festus. The Festus Police Department confirmed that Jennings was found deceased alongside another individual after officers conducted a welfare check at a residence in the city.
Police responded to the home following a request for a wellness check and discovered both individuals dead at the scene. Investigators believe the incident to be a murder-suicide, though autopsies are pending to confirm the official causes of death. Authorities have assured the public that there is no ongoing threat, and the investigation is being supported by Jefferson County law enforcement agencies.

Jennings, described by family and friends as a kind and deeply loved individual, is remembered for her strong ties to the community. She is survived by her parents, David and Susan Jennings (née Miller), her brother Riley (Alicia) Jennings, as well as her grandparents, Malinda Meyer and the late Robert Jennings, and Joan and the late Ronald Miller. She also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who mourn her untimely passing.
Funeral arrangements have been made for the public to pay their respects. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 13, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road. A funeral Mass will take place on Friday, November 14, at 10:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Hillsboro. The funeral procession will depart the chapel at 9:15 a.m., with interment following at Shepherd Hills Cemetery.
