Murray Man Identified as Victim in Fatal Calloway County Crash

The Calloway County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a tragic single-vehicle crash that claimed the life of 41-year-old Zachary Rayburn of Murray, Kentucky, on Friday evening.

Authorities said the accident occurred shortly after 6 p.m. in the 4400 block of Pottertown Road. Preliminary reports indicate that a GMC Sierra traveling along the roadway veered off to the left, colliding with a cement culvert before coming to rest in a ditch.

When emergency responders arrived, they found the vehicle heavily damaged. Sadly, Rayburn was pronounced dead at the scene. A juvenile passenger who was also in the vehicle was airlifted to a Nashville hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, officials confirmed.

The Calloway County Sheriff’s Office and local emergency crews continue to investigate the cause of the crash, though no other vehicles are believed to have been involved.
