Philadelphia Police Apprehend Suspect After Dirt Bike Collision with Highway Patrol Officer
A 22-year-old suspect was taken into custody following a collision with a Philadelphia Highway Patrol officer in Northeast Philly on Wednesday night.
The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of Leon and Stanwood streets. According to authorities, the suspect, operating an illegal dirt bike, ran a stop sign at high speed and struck the officer, who was traveling west on Stanwood Street.
Attempting to flee, the suspect was subdued with the assistance of a nearby resident. Both the officer and suspect were hospitalized and listed in stable condition.
The investigation is ongoing, and charges are pending.
