One Dead, Another Critically Injured in Shooting Outside Bentonville Sushi Restaurant

A tragic shooting outside a well-known sushi restaurant in Bentonville on Monday evening has left one man dead and another hospitalized in critical condition, local authorities confirmed.

The violence erupted around 6 p.m. near Sushi House, a popular dining spot in the city’s busy downtown area. Witnesses reported hearing a series of rapid gunshots that sent diners and bystanders running for cover. When police arrived, they found two male victims, both believed to be in their 30s. One was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other was transported to Northwest Bentonville Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Shortly after the wounded victim’s arrival, the hospital was placed on temporary lockdown as a precautionary measure. Bentonville Police later confirmed the lockdown had been lifted and assured the public there was no ongoing threat.

According to police, one suspect has been taken into custody, though their identity and motive have not yet been released. Investigators remained on the scene late into the night, collecting evidence and interviewing witnesses.

Eyewitnesses described a massive emergency response, with over 20 police vehicles, fire trucks, and specialized units flooding the area. The restaurant’s parking lot was sealed off with yellow crime scene tape as officers continued their investigation.

Authorities are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or captured video footage to contact the Bentonville Police Department.
