Palm Springs authorities have identified the pedestrian who died in a crash Tuesday evening as Raymond Olguin Jr., 29, of Palm Desert.
The collision happened around 8:55 p.m. on Sept. 16 near the intersection of San Rafael Drive and Avenida Caballeros. Responding officers found Olguin lying in the roadway after being struck by a vehicle. Despite immediate life-saving efforts by police and medics, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators said the driver involved stayed at the location and has been cooperating with authorities. At this stage, police do not believe drugs or alcohol played a role in the incident.
