Philadelphia authorities have arrested a man in connection with a deadly shooting that occurred early Saturday morning on West Grange Avenue, leaving one man dead and another in critical condition.
According to the 35th District Police, officers responded around 4:50 a.m. on October 25, 2025, following a radio call reporting a “person with a gun” on the 400 block of West Grange Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered two victims.

The first victim, 25-year-old Michael Davila Rivera of North Fairhill Street, had sustained a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:02 a.m. The second victim, a 28-year-old man, suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the torso and was transported to Temple University Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
Following a multi-day investigation, police took 28-year-old Hudhayfah Trice of North Ashmead Street into custody on October 27, 2025. Officers recovered a loaded handgun during the arrest.
Trice has been charged with Murder, Attempted Murder, and other related offenses as investigators continue to piece together the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Authorities are urging anyone with additional information to come forward as the case proceeds.
The incident has left the local community shaken, prompting police to increase patrols in the area while emphasizing ongoing efforts to ensure public safety.
