AIRDIRE, Scotland – Police in North Lanarkshire have launched an urgent public appeal for information to help locate a 14-year-old boy who went missing in Airdrie over the weekend.
Francis Goodwin was last seen walking alone on South Bridge Street in the Plains area of Airdrie at approximately 5:15 p.m. on Saturday, December 6.

Description and Last Known Clothing
Francis is described as a slim, white teenage boy, 5 feet 11 inches tall, with blond hair and blue eyes.
He was last seen wearing all-black clothing, including a black “Monterex” cap and black Nike trainers.
Extensive Search Underway
Police say Francis did not return home or make contact with his family, prompting an immediate investigation. Officers have conducted door-to-door inquiries, reviewed CCTV footage, and spoken to friends and acquaintances to trace his movements on Saturday evening.
Despite these efforts, there have been no confirmed sightings or communication from him since he disappeared.
Appeal for Information
Authorities are urging anyone who was in the South Bridge Street area on Saturday evening to check any private CCTV, doorbell cameras, or dashcam footage. They are particularly interested in sightings of a boy matching Francis’s description walking alone, entering a shop, or getting into a vehicle.
“Even the smallest detail could be vital in helping us find Francis and bring him home safely,” a Police Scotland spokesperson said.
