
PORT ST. JOHN, FL — A man has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of 28-year-old Lendzi Lakeman on Sunday, November 16, 2025. The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that 23-year-old Tyjah Bellinger, Lakeman’s boyfriend, was taken into custody for her death.
The incident unfolded shortly after 12:15 p.m. when deputies responded to multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire in the 7000 block of Carlow Avenue. Upon arrival, law enforcement found Lakeman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of first responders, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Patrol deputies quickly identified Bellinger as the suspect and initiated a search of several locations. The search led them to a residence on Dallas Avenue in Port St. John, where Bellinger was taken into custody without incident.
Agents from the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Homicide and Crime Scene Units responded to the scene to process evidence and collect information. Based on initial findings, Bellinger was charged with 1st Degree Premeditated Murder. He is currently being held in the Brevard County Jail without bond.
