REEDLEY, Calif. — A Reedley community is in mourning after 31-year-old Yesennia Rocha was fatally shot by her husband, Michael Rocha, in a devastating domestic violence incident late Saturday evening. Authorities confirm the tragedy unfolded in front of the couple’s children at a community park near Parlier and Frankwood Avenues.

Officers with the Reedley Police Department responded just after 8:00 p.m. to multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire. When they arrived, they discovered Yesennia had been shot, but the suspect had already fled the scene in a white pickup truck.
Investigators believe as many as 15 gunshots were fired during the incident. Law enforcement has since closed Frankwood Avenue between Parlier and Aspen Avenues as the investigation continues.
As of Sunday, Michael Rocha remains at large, and police have not released a motive for the shooting.
The incident has left the community shocked and heartbroken. Friends and neighbors took to social media to remember Yesennia as a devoted mother while expressing outrage that her children witnessed the violence. Many have also called for swift justice and help in locating the suspect.
Family members have joined the appeal for public assistance. Gina Rocha, the suspect’s sister, shared photos of her brother and his truck with Reedley police. “Justice will be served,” she said. “We demand justice for my beautiful sister-in-law, and we will not rest until he is found.”
Authorities warn that Rocha should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact the Reedley Police Department immediately and to avoid approaching him directly.
