The Winston-Salem community is reeling after an unusual and tragic accident claimed the life of 67-year-old Reginald Carson late Saturday night. The incident occurred around 11:45 p.m. along N. Patterson Avenue, leaving residents stunned and grieving.
According to police, Carson was riding in the passenger section of a moving vehicle, partially leaning out of an open window as it traveled southbound. When the vehicle slowed, he was unexpectedly pulled into the opposite lanes of traffic. Another driver approaching from the opposite direction was unable to react in time and struck him.

Emergency crews responded quickly, but Carson was pronounced dead at the scene.
