The Rocky Mount Police Department is investigating a deadly shooting that left a 24-year-old man dead early Sunday morning.

Authorities said officers were called to the 2100 block of Benvenue Road around 6:00 a.m. on September 21, 2025. When they arrived, they found Kedar Darden of Rocky Mount, who was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Police have since reopened the roadway, but the circumstances leading to the shooting remain under investigation.
