Late Friday morning, a shooting occurred at a senior care facility in New London, leaving three people wounded and one dead. The incident occurred at the Windy Acres senior living retirement community shortly after 10:50 a.m., according to the New London Police Department.
New London police made a press release on their Facebook page stating that two injured victims were trapped in the main office when responding officers arrived. According to authorities, the two victims, who were both facility workers, managed to escape through a window and were transported to nearby hospitals. It was thought that their wounds were not life-threatening.
According to a police report on Saturday, both employees—a 52-year-old from New London and a 56-year-old from Lorain County—have now been discharged from the hospital and are recuperating at home. According to authorities, a dead man was found in the foyer. It was established that he lived in the house and that he had shot himself to death. The two people who were hurt were workers.
