The Rowan County, Kentucky, community is grieving after the tragic deaths of 13-year-old Kennedi McWhorter and her mother, Kayla Blake, who were found Friday morning in their Morehead home.
Kennedi, a student at Rowan County Middle School, was remembered by classmates and teachers for her kindness, radiant smile, and bright potential. School officials described her as a warm, compassionate young person whose presence brought joy to everyone around her.

“Though only 13 years old, Kennedi’s impact was immeasurable,” the school said in a statement. “She touched lives with her laughter and caring spirit. She will be deeply missed.”
