
The San Antonio community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of 32-year-old Kianna Cachae Mayberry, who was tragically shot and killed late Sunday night while sitting in her car outside her home on the city’s Northwest Side.
According to the San Antonio Police Department, the deadly shooting occurred around 10:30 p.m. in the 7700 block of Hickory Springs, near Babcock Road. Authorities said Mayberry had just stepped outside and entered her vehicle when three suspects emerged and began firing multiple rounds before escaping in a white sedan parked a few houses away.
Emergency responders arrived quickly and found Mayberry suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, including injuries to her neck and head. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors later pronounced her dead despite efforts to save her life.
Police have not yet announced any arrests or identified possible suspects. Investigators are currently working to determine a motive behind the shooting, describing the attack as targeted and violent.
