The San Diego Police Department has identified the victim of an early Monday morning shooting near the Linda Vista Recreation Center as 40-year-old Enrique Nunez, leaving family members, friends, and neighbors heartbroken over the sudden and tragic loss.
Authorities say officers were dispatched to the area around 12:45 a.m. following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they found Nunez suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital and receiving emergency treatment, he was later pronounced dead.

Investigators are now working to locate the suspect, described as a heavy-set Hispanic male adult, who fled the scene after the shooting.
