SUPPORT THE FAMILY - GOD BLESS YOU

Born in Brooklyn, New York, to Joseph and Annette (née Saslofsky) Walker, Ira’s early years were shaped by time spent helping at a flower shop, an experience that instilled in him a strong work ethic and sense of responsibility. Though his first jobs were in retail, his ambitions soon led him into the world of finance, where he would discover his lifelong passion.

Ira’s distinguished career in finance spanned more than four decades. He began with formative roles at Shearson Lehman Brothers and Morgan Stanley, later rising to serve as Managing Director and Senior Portfolio Manager at UBS Private Wealth Management. Known for his expertise, integrity, and deep commitment to clients, Ira became a respected figure in the industry. Colleagues admired his leadership, mentorship, and unwavering professionalism, while clients valued the guidance and care he provided.

Outside of his professional life, Ira was cherished for his warmth, humor, and love of life. A devoted Yankees fan, he enjoyed watching games and sharing the excitement with friends and family. Golfing brought him both camaraderie and joy, while traveling with his children created memories he deeply treasured. The beach was his sanctuary, a place of peace and reflection where he often found comfort.

Family was always at the center of Ira’s world. He was a loving father to Mary Henion and her husband Jonathan, and to his sons Joseph Walker and Michael Walker. He also adored his grandchildren — Haley Ann, Isabella, and Jonathan Henion Jr. — who held a special place in his heart. Family gatherings were filled with laughter, love, and the bonds that defined his life.

Friends and loved ones describe Ira as kind, generous, and steadfast in his support of others. His legacy lives on not only in his professional accomplishments but also in the lives of the many people he touched through his friendship, guidance, and love.

As the Sea Girt community comes together to honor him, Ira is remembered for a life well-lived — marked by dedication, joy, and unwavering devotion to family and friends. His memory will continue to inspire all who knew him.
