A proud graduate of Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, Shawn’s life was defined by his generosity, humor, and unyielding determination. He was known for his infectious personality, always ready to share a laugh, offer thoughtful advice, or brighten a room with his presence. Shawn’s family was the foundation of his life. He shared 35 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Glenda, and together they raised two wonderful sons, Colin and Ian, who were the center of his world. To his family, Shawn was not only a loving husband and father but a source of constant support and pride.
Beyond his family, Shawn’s influence extended deeply into the Dartmouth community. He was a passionate leader who contributed tirelessly to a variety of causes. His roles included serving as President of the Dartmouth Rotary Club, President of the Dartmouth Whalers, Commodore of the Senobe Paddling Club, and President of Camp Kidston. Shawn’s efforts were also recognized by the Hockey Hall of Fame for his work in local hockey, a testament to his belief in the power of mentorship, teamwork, and community service.
Known for his warmth and sense of humor, Shawn was the heart of many social gatherings, bringing people together with his generous spirit. Even during his battle with cancer, he faced each day with love, positivity, and courage, never allowing his illness to define him.
