The Shenandoah community is grieving the loss of Leanne Marie Hall, a devoted teacher, coach, and cherished community member, who passed away on October 24, 2025, surrounded by family after a courageous battle with illness. Leanne’s life was marked by compassion, dedication, and a tireless commitment to the growth and well-being of her students and community.

Born in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, on September 28, 1984, Leanne graduated from Shenandoah Valley High School in 2002 and Wilkes University in 2006. She spent 20 years as a 4th grade special education teacher at Mahanoy Area School District, where her patience, creativity, and devotion to every child left an indelible impact. Beyond the classroom, Leanne coached girls’ volleyball at Shenandoah Valley for over a decade, inspiring young athletes with her energy, positivity, and dedication to teamwork.

Leanne was also deeply connected to her community. She volunteered with local organizations and was an active member of the Divine Mercy Parish. Known for her love of cooking, her famous Wigilia seafood dishes and homemade flitch became treasured traditions, bringing family and friends together. Leanne’s family, students, colleagues, and the Shenandoah community remember her not only for her professional dedication but for the joy, love, and leadership she brought to every aspect of life.
