Shreveport Teen, Cameron Ballentine Fatally Shot in Martin Luther King Jr. Neighborhood

SHREVEPORT, La. — The Shreveport community is mourning the tragic loss of 17-year-old Cameron Ballentine, who was fatally shot early Sunday morning in the Martin Luther King Jr. neighborhood. The shooting occurred in the 3300 block of Bond Drive, and Ballentine was transported to Ochsner LSU Health, where he was pronounced dead at 12:54 a.m. on August 31, 2025.

Cameron was remembered by family and friends as a bright, kind-hearted young man with big dreams and a promising future. His untimely death has left a deep void in the lives of those who knew and loved him.
