A sailor who was serving in the United States Navy and his spouse were killed in a semi-truck crash. According to police, the collision happened on Wednesday at around 5:30 p.m. close to the intersection of Willie Hatcher Road and Ludie Brown Road.
Both Simba Wallace and his spouse, Natalie Castro, were murdered. As the investigation progressed, it was found that the couple’s Jeep Wrangler was heading south on Willie Hatcher Road when it failed to yield to a semi-truck carrying chickens heading west on Ludie Brown Road.
According to reports, the semi-truck struck the Jeep, rolled over, fled to the left of the road, and and came to a stop partially off the road, according to the troop representatives.
Both the sailor and his wife, who were both stationed at Camp Lejeune, were pronounced dead at the scene, according to the troopers. According to the findings of the troopers, the driver of the tractor-trailer was transported to ECU Health Duplin Hospital with relatively minor injuries.
