SMITHS STATION, Ala. — It is with profound sadness that the family of Cathy Lynn Mitchell Prickett, 62, of Smiths Station, Alabama, announces her peaceful passing at home on Monday, September 8, 2025.

Cathy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, known for her unwavering faith, love for family, and dedication to her community. She spent many years working in the legal field but found her greatest joy in caring for her loved ones and supporting the Special Olympics, where her daughter Callie competed. She was happiest tending her garden or enjoying quiet moments observing the beauty of nature.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Scott; her children, Callie and Will (Jennifer); her grandchildren, Jackson and Mary Carlton; and her siblings, Donna, Paula, and Kenneth, along with many extended family members and friends who cherished her.
A memorial service will be held Friday, September 12, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. EST at Epworth Methodist Church in Phenix City, Alabama, with a visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society or Columbus Hospice in Cathy’s memory.
Cathy’s legacy of love, kindness, and devotion will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
