Springfield police are investigating the city’s tenth homicide of the year after a man was found fatally shot outside an apartment building early Tuesday morning. The victim, identified as 21-year-old Delquan Scott, was discovered deceased at the 324 E. Montclair apartment complex at approximately 7:10 a.m. on November 18, 2025. Police have notified his family of his passing.
Deandre Jonas, 23, of Springfield, has been arrested in connection with the murder. Jonas was taken into custody at the scene and later booked into the Greene County Jail. According to authorities, Scott and Jonas were known to each other, though details surrounding the shooting remain unclear. The Springfield Police Department has not yet disclosed the specific events that led to the fatal encounter.
