The community of St. Gabriel, Louisiana is grieving the tragic death of 34-year-old Brandon Nicholas, a devoted husband and father of four, who was fatally shot during a trooper-involved incident early Tuesday morning in Ascension Parish.

Nicholas was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Gonzales, where he was later pronounced deceased. His family shared the pain of not being allowed to see him in the hospital. His body has since been transferred to Jefferson Parish for an autopsy.
