St. Joseph County, MI – The St. Joseph County community is mourning the tragic loss of 21-year-old Kayden Gruver, who was killed in a hit-and-run incident early Sunday morning, October 26, 2025, near the intersection of US-12 and Burr Oak Road. Emergency responders confirmed that Gruver had been struck by a vehicle, which fled the scene.

Kayden was remembered as a bright, compassionate young man whose kindness, infectious smile, and willingness to help others left a lasting impact on family, friends, classmates, and neighbors. His sudden passing has left a profound void in the community.

Law enforcement reports that the vehicle involved is believed to be a 2007–2015 GMC Sierra or Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, possibly with damage to the front passenger side.
