ISLE, Minn. – A 39-year-old Minneapolis woman died early Wednesday after she was struck by a vehicle on an icy stretch of Highway 27 near Isle, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
The victim has been identified as Danielle Lee Boyd, 39, of Minneapolis.

The Crash
The State Patrol says the crash occurred shortly after 6:27 a.m. on Wednesday, December 10, on Highway 27 near 400th Street.
Investigators report that a northbound 2012 Cadillac CTS, driven by a 41-year-old man from Isle, struck Boyd as she emerged from the snow-covered roadside. The roadway was covered in ice and snow at the time.
Boyd was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was not injured and is cooperating with the investigation.
Open Investigation
The State Patrol’s investigation is ongoing. Troopers are examining several factors, including road conditions, visibility, lighting, and the pedestrian’s clothing and actions.
Authorities note there are no crosswalks, signals, or pedestrian markings on that stretch of the highway. It remains unclear why Boyd was walking along the roadway at that hour.
The scene was closed for several hours for evidence collection. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Minnesota State Patrol.
