Authorities in Baldwinsville, New York, are appealing to the public for assistance as they investigate an early-morning incident in which a woman was discovered along Downer Street on Sunday. New York State Police say the circumstances strongly suggest she was struck by a passing vehicle shortly before being found.
Troopers responded at around 5:50 a.m. after receiving reports of a person lying in the eastbound lane. Emergency personnel arrived quickly, but the woman was tragically pronounced deceased at the scene. Officials noted that the evidence at the location indicated a likely vehicle-related impact.

Investigators have determined that the woman had just left a nearby Dunkin’ Donuts at approximately 5:39 a.m. Based on surveillance footage and interviews, they believe it would have taken her roughly two minutes to walk from the store to the spot where she was discovered. Her identity is being withheld until her family is notified.
As part of the ongoing investigation, State Police have released a still image captured from a nearby camera. Although the photo is blurred due to distance and motion, it shows what appears to be a light-colored sedan traveling eastbound on Downer Street around the time of the incident. Detectives are working to enhance the footage and identify the vehicle.
Authorities are urging anyone who was in the area early Sunday morning or who may have seen a similar vehicle to come forward. Even small details, they say, could be crucial in helping piece together what happened.
