Stephanie Rodriguez of Hialeah, Florida has sadly passed away. She died in a boating accident that occurred Thursday afternoon near Key West. The accident involved a single vessel, a 39-foot Deep Impact, which was carrying one operator and seven passengers at the time of the incident. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) confirmed the details of the incident, which took place in Monroe County, Florida.
At approximately 4 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7, FWC officials were notified of the single-boat accident in North Key West Harbor. According to FWC Public Information Coordinator Arielle Callender, the vessel was traveling when it struck a sandbar and rolled over. This led to five of the eight occupants being ejected from the boat.

Rodriguez, a passenger on the boat, did not survive the accident, and her passing has been confirmed by authorities.
