STERLING, Mass. — The town of Sterling is mourning the heartbreaking loss of 23-year-old firefighter recruit and EMT, Jack Bonazzoli, who tragically died in a motorcycle crash in Berlin on Sunday night.

Bonazzoli, remembered as a devoted public servant and compassionate friend, had been a proud member of the Sterling Fire Department. Colleagues and loved ones say he quickly became known for his courage, dedication, and genuine desire to protect and serve others.
“Jack wasn’t just a firefighter—he was family to all of us,” said one fellow firefighter. “His passion for helping people and his kind spirit made him unforgettable.”
Friends describe Bonazzoli as someone who could “light up any room” with his infectious smile, generous heart, and ability to bring people together. His untimely passing has left a deep void in the community, the fire department, and among those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Though his life was cut tragically short, Bonazzoli’s legacy of service and compassion will live on in Sterling. His memory will remain in the hearts of his family, fellow firefighters, and the community he faithfully served.
