Strathmiglo, Scotland – The community of Strathmiglo is grieving the loss of 22-year-old Ollie Nelson, who tragically died in a fatal crash near Blaireadam on Sunday, August 17, 2025.

The accident happened around 10:50 p.m. on the B996 at the junction for the B9097 and involved a black Seat Leon. Ollie, a passenger in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene despite efforts by emergency services to save him.
Police Scotland confirmed his identity and said his loved ones have requested privacy as they process this devastating loss. Constable Lee Buckley extended condolences on behalf of the force, stating:
“Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of Ollie at this devastating time.”
Officers have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the crash and are appealing to the public for help. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage from the area is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference 4040 of 17 August 2025.
