Teen Fatally Shot at Covina Back-to-School Party

Covina, CA — A teenage boy was tragically shot to death on Saturday night during what authorities described as a large back-to-school house party.

The shooting occurred around 10:15 p.m. near the 600 block of East Camellia Drive, just a few blocks north of Interstate 10, according to the Covina Police Department.

The boy was rushed to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Authorities have not released his name pending family notification.

No arrests have been made, and police have not provided a description of the suspect. Media reports indicate that a firearm was recovered at the scene and two individuals were detained for questioning. ABC7 described the gathering as an “open-invite swimming party.”
