Family members have identified Braylen Ezell, 17, as the teenager who was fatally stabbed during a house party in Cypress, Texas, early Saturday morning.
Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said they were called around 1:30 a.m. to a home on Trinity Star Drive in the Bridgeland neighborhood. When they arrived, deputies found two teens with stab wounds. Ezell died at the scene from his injuries, while the second teen was taken to a hospital for treatment. Their condition has not yet been released.
Officials with Cy-Fair ISD confirmed Ezell was a student at Langham Creek High School. In a letter to parents, the district described the incident as a heartbreaking loss and said counselors and support staff would be available to support students, teachers, and families.
Investigators said they are still interviewing witnesses and gathering evidence. No charges have been filed at this time, but authorities emphasized the investigation remains active and further updates will be shared as more information becomes available.
