Teen Killer Mohammed Umar Khan Sentenced to Life for School Stabbing of 15-Year-Old Harvey Willgoose

The teenage boy responsible for the brutal killing of 15-year-old Harvey Willgoose has been named as Mohammed Umar Khan, following the conclusion of legal restrictions after his sentencing.

Khan, who was also 15 at the time of the attack, was found guilty in August of murdering his fellow pupil during a shocking incident that stemmed from an online dispute. The altercation, which reportedly had little to do with either boy directly, escalated when Khan brought a knife to school and fatally stabbed Harvey.

The court heard that Khan had a troubling history of carrying weapons. He had previously taken knives to school, and in December 2024, his mother discovered an axe hidden in his bag—a chilling sign of his growing obsession with violence.

During sentencing, the judge described the murder as a cold and senseless act, noting that Khan’s decision to bring a weapon to school reflected a pattern of dangerous behavior.

Khan has now been sentenced to life in prison, with a minimum term of 16 years, minus the time already served on remand.

The tragic death of Harvey Willgoose has left his school and community devastated, sparking renewed discussions about youth violence, knife crime, and the urgent need for early intervention in cases of at-risk teens.
