The Texas Department of Public Safety is grieving the death of Trooper Jerry Wayne Adamick Jr., 44, who tragically lost his life while responding to an emergency call on Monday evening, September 15, 2025.

According to DPS, Trooper Adamick was driving south on FM 945 in San Jacinto County around 9:15 p.m. when his patrol unit left the roadway, struck a tree, and caught fire. Despite quick response efforts, he died at the scene.
Adamick, a devoted husband, father, veteran, and public servant, dedicated his life to protecting others. Before joining DPS, he served over two decades in the U.S. Army, completing multiple overseas deployments. Friends and colleagues remember him for his steadfast courage, discipline, and willingness to put others before himself.
In 2024, Adamick fulfilled a lifelong goal by graduating with DPS Class A-2024. Fellow troopers described him as a respected teammate whose leadership and resilience inspired those around him.
Beyond his uniform, Adamick was a loving family man, survived by his wife, Roxanne, and their five adult children. His family remembers him as a guiding presence whose strength and devotion defined every part of their lives.
Trooper Adamick is now honored as the 242nd DPS officer to give his life in the line of duty since the department’s founding in 1823 — a solemn reminder of the risks law enforcement officers face each day.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing, but DPS officials say Trooper Adamick’s integrity, bravery, and lifelong commitment to service will never be forgotten.
