THURSO — The Thurso Players have announced with deep sorrow the passing of one of their most dedicated and cherished members, Lesley Jackson.
A cornerstone of the local theatre community, Lesley devoted many years to the Thurso Players, serving as both secretary and membership secretary while tirelessly supporting productions and junior programs behind the scenes. Her commitment and quiet leadership helped the club run smoothly through countless seasons of performances.
Known for her remarkable work ethic and warm personality, Lesley was often the first to step in whenever help was needed, guiding others with her experience and calm assurance. In addition to her administrative roles, she was also a talented pianist, lending her musical skills to numerous productions when she wasn’t performing on stage or helping create stage scenery.
Due to recent health challenges, Lesley had stepped back from her active involvement, though her influence and encouragement continued to resonate throughout the group.
In a heartfelt statement, the Thurso Players expressed their gratitude for her enduring friendship and contributions: “Lesley was at the heart of everything we did. Her kindness, dedication, and wisdom helped shape this club for the better. She will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege to know her.”
The group extended their sincere condolences to Lesley’s family — Peter, Neal, Mark, Glyn, Samantha, and their loved ones — as the community remembers a woman whose passion for theatre and music left a lasting legacy in Thurso’s creative scene.
