The Lynwood community is in shock following the discovery of a 7-year-old boy found dead inside a freezer in an apartment Tuesday night. Authorities have charged the child’s mother, father, and grandmother in connection with his death.
The suspects have been identified as Destiny Harrison, 25, Daniel Monzon, 25, and Ana Zarceno-Carcamo, 46. All three face charges including murder, torture, and willful cruelty to a child, with an additional allegation of willful harm resulting in death. The father and grandmother were also charged with being accessories after the fact.
Deputies responded shortly after 8:30 p.m. to a welfare call at an apartment in the 3100 block of Euclid Avenue, near Santa Fe Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered the child deceased in a freezer and pronounced him dead at the scene.
Three other children, aged 16, 13, and 9 months, were present at the apartment and have been taken into protective custody by the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services. Officials have not confirmed how long the child had been deceased.
