A devastating domestic violence incident unfolded Monday evening in Harris County, Georgia, resulting in the deaths of three individuals, including two teenage boys and their stepfather. The incident, which occurred around 6:50 p.m. at 103 Christophers Way, has left the community in shock and mourning.
According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), the violence began when Kelly Grigsby, accompanied by her five-year-old child, fled their home and sought refuge at a neighbor’s residence. Grigsby called 911, reporting a domestic dispute in progress, and stated that her husband, Eric Grigsby, was threatening the children and making threats toward the officers who might respond.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they illuminated the front door of the residence using their vehicles, as the interior lights were off. Eric Grigsby then reportedly approached the officers holding handguns, ignoring repeated commands to drop the weapons. He pointed the guns at the deputies, which prompted law enforcement to open fire. Grigsby reportedly returned fire before being subdued and fatally shot by deputies.
After securing the scene, deputies discovered the bodies of Grigsby’s two teenage stepsons, ages 16 and 14. The 16-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene, while the 14-year-old boy was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries despite attempts to revive him.
Sheriff Mike Jolley called the incident a tragic example of family violence, stating, “Two teenage young men were shot and killed by their stepfather, and the stepfather was shot and killed by deputies. The deputies responded to the scene and acted exactly as they were trained.”
The bodies of Eric Grigsby and the two boys have been transported to the GBI Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsies. Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident, and anyone with information is urged to contact the GBI Regional Investigative Office in Columbus at (706) 565-7888.
