A horrifying shooting in Friendship Village, San Fernando, has left a mother and her son dead, while two other family members — including the father — remain in critical condition.
The violent attack unfolded around 2:25 a.m. on Friday, October 10, 2025, when armed assailants stormed a home on Peterloo Street and opened fire on the sleeping family.
According to police, 25-year-old Randy Rampersad and his mother, Gracelyn Ramberan, were fatally shot inside the residence. Randy’s father, 58-year-old Vijai Rampersad, and his wife, Kimberly Rampersad, sustained multiple gunshot wounds and were rushed to the hospital by neighbors for emergency treatment.
A relative who was asleep downstairs told investigators that he awoke to the sound of gunfire. Upon checking, he discovered Randy lying motionless outside with multiple bullet wounds. Nearby, Vijai was bleeding heavily and struggling to walk, while Kimberly was seen stumbling in distress after being shot. When the man went upstairs, he found his aunt Gracelyn lifeless from apparent gunshot injuries.
Detectives from the Ste. Madeleine Police Station and Homicide Region III are investigating the deadly ambush to determine the motive behind the shooting.
The tragedy has sent shockwaves through Friendship Village — a community still grieving the recent killing of 13-year-old Mariah Seenath just weeks earlier.
Police are urging anyone with information about the attack to contact authorities or make an anonymous report through ianalleyne.org.
