Tragic End to Search for 6-Month-Old Nnakai Pratt as Infant Found Dead in Riverdale
The search for 6-month-old Nnakai Pratt ended in tragedy Tuesday evening after authorities discovered the infant’s body near a Riverdale apartment complex, just days after he was reported missing.

According to police, Nnakai’s body was located around 7 p.m. near a wooded area and dumpster close to Valley Hill Road, concluding an exhaustive 84-hour search that began when his father, Antonio Pearce, reported his son had been abducted during an alleged armed robbery.

Following the discovery, investigators noted inconsistencies in Pearce’s account, shifting the investigation from a possible kidnapping to a criminal homicide inquiry. Pearce has been identified as the primary suspect in the case. He remains in custody on unrelated charges, including possession of marijuana and multiple traffic violations, while detectives continue to build evidence regarding his involvement in his son’s death.

Authorities confirmed that Nnakai’s twin sibling is safe and currently in the care of their mother, who is not believed to be involved in the incident.

A Clayton County Police spokesperson described the situation as a “devastating loss for everyone involved,” offering thoughts and prayers to the family during this unimaginable tragedy.

The Clayton County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy to officially determine the cause of Nnakai Pratt’s death.
