Turlock Community Mourns the Passing of Alfonso Gonzalez

The Turlock community is grieving the loss of Alfonso Gonzalez, who passed away on June 7, 2025, at the age of 39. Born on May 16, 1986, in Salinas, California, to Jorge and Maria Elena Gonzalez, Alfonso’s life was one defined by love, devotion, and joy.

Alfonso was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, godfather, and friend. His sudden passing has left a profound void in the hearts of his family and all who knew him.

He grew up in King City, CA, before settling in Turlock in 2007 with his wife, Elizabeth, and their growing family. Together, they raised four children: Alfonso Jr., Julian, Elizandra, and Briella. Family was at the heart of Alfonso’s life, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

Known for his boundless energy, Alfonso had a passion for fitness and weightlifting, and he also enjoyed working on his lowrider car. His love of family gatherings and celebrations reflected his vibrant personality—he was often described as the life of the party, with a sense of humor and warmth that touched everyone around him.

Professionally, Alfonso dedicated 18 years as a driver for Mission Linen, where he built meaningful connections with coworkers and customers alike. His joyful spirit, dedication, and kindness left an enduring impact both at work and in the community.

He is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth Gonzalez and their four children, as well as his parents, Jorge and Maria Elena Gonzalez of Turlock; his siblings, Griselda Francis of Turlock, Miriam Arellano and Ruby Gonzalez of King City, and Jorge Gonzalez of Turlock.

A Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1200 Lyons Ave, Turlock. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 20, at the same location, with interment at Turlock Cemetery.

Alfonso Gonzalez will be remembered as a joyful soul, a man of great energy and devotion, and someone whose presence brightened the lives of all who were fortunate to know him.
