WICHITA, Kan. — A devastating crash in south-central Wichita early Thursday morning claimed the lives of two people, leaving the community mourning and investigators searching for answers.

According to Wichita Police Capt. Aaron Moses, the crash occurred around 2:45 a.m. at the intersection of Harry Street and Palisade Avenue.

Preliminary reports indicate that 36-year-old Son Nguyen was traveling on a motorcycle at a high rate of speed when he collided with a 61-year-old man who was either riding or walking with a bicycle. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities are continuing to investigate what led to the fatal collision. Police say they are examining factors such as speed, road visibility, and lighting conditions at the time of the crash to determine how the tragic accident unfolded.
