Police say two 16-year-old boys were hospitalized following a violent knife fight on Acre Lane in Brixton Monday afternoon, reigniting community concern over youth violence in South London.
The altercation broke out shortly after 3 p.m. on September 23, when a group of young men clashed in broad daylight. Officers from the Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service responded quickly, treating the teenagers before taking them to a south London hospital. Authorities confirmed one boy suffered a stab wound to his arm while the other sustained minor injuries. Both are expected to recover.

Disturbing footage of the brawl circulated widely on social media, showing chaos as bystanders scattered from the scene. Detectives are now reviewing CCTV from the area and urging witnesses or anyone with phone recordings to assist the investigation.
“This was a shocking incident that took place in the middle of the day on a busy road,” a police spokesperson said. “We are working hard to track down those involved and provide reassurance to the community.”
The clash comes amid ongoing concerns about rising knife crime in Brixton and across London, where residents continue to call for stronger action to safeguard young people.
