The University of Kansas (KU) and the Chi Omega sorority are mourning the loss of Elsa McGrain, a 21-year-old student who was killed in a hit-and-run accident on Thursday, November 6, 2025, while jogging in North Lawrence.

Elsa, a vibrant and beloved member of the KU community, was known for her kindness, dedication, and infectious energy. Her family, heartbroken by the untimely death of a young woman with so much potential, shared the tragic news, urging the public to assist in the investigation surrounding her death.
