A heartbreaking crash in Jefferson County, New York, claimed the life of Reid W. Marker, a 20-year-old Virginia resident, on October 26, according to a statement from the New York State Police.

Troopers responded to the scene around 12:54 p.m. on Middle Road in the Town of Orleans, where a 2005 Honda Accord had veered off the roadway and struck a tree. Marker, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

The vehicle was reportedly driven by an 18-year-old female, who, according to police, was uninjured in the crash. Authorities confirmed that a drug recognition expert evaluated the driver and found no signs of impairment.
