Authorities in Fayetteville, Arkansas, responded swiftly Monday night after an anonymous threat prompted a brief lockdown at Washington Regional Medical Center, according to Sgt. Mauk of the Fayetteville Police Department (FPD).
Police officers were dispatched to the hospital shortly after the threat was reported, leading officials to immediately implement safety protocols to protect patients, staff, and visitors. The lockdown, which lasted for a short period, was described as a precautionary measure while investigators worked to determine the credibility of the threat.

Sgt. Mauk confirmed that following a thorough search of the facility and surrounding areas, no credible threat was discovered. “Officers conducted a complete sweep and found nothing suspicious or indicative of danger,” he said.
By late Monday evening, authorities had cleared the scene, and normal hospital operations resumed without further incident.
In a statement, Washington Regional officials expressed gratitude to their employees, patients, and local law enforcement for their calm cooperation during the situation. “We appreciate the professionalism of our staff and the rapid response from law enforcement, which ensured the safety of everyone on site,” the statement read.
The Fayetteville Police Department is continuing to investigate the source of the anonymous threat, though no suspects or further details have been released.
While the incident caused momentary concern, officials emphasized that there is no ongoing threat to the public or hospital community.
