A tragic accident in Webster Parish on Wednesday afternoon has left one woman dead and another facing serious criminal charges.

Louisiana State Police confirmed that 63-year-old Eva Hunt of Doyline lost her life in a single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 1:35 p.m. on Louisiana Highway 518 near Posey Lane.
According to investigators, the crash involved a Dodge Durango driven by 35-year-old Tiffany Conley. Preliminary findings indicate that Conley was traveling westbound when her vehicle veered off the roadway, struck an embankment, and overturned.
Hunt, who was seated in the front passenger seat, had been wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash. Despite this precaution, she sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders.
Conley, who sustained only minor injuries, was transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation. Following her treatment, she was arrested and booked into the Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center on a charge of vehicular homicide.
Authorities noted that impairment is suspected to have played a role in the deadly collision. Toxicology results are pending, and Louisiana State Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
