WEST WARWICK, R.I. / INDIAN LAND, S.C. — With deep sorrow, the family of Zachary Grichenko has announced his untimely passing. Zachary, a beloved son of Alex Grichenko, grew up in West Warwick, Rhode Island, and was most recently living in Indian Land, South Carolina.

A graduate of the Olympic High School Math, Engineering, and Technology Program and later York Comprehensive High School, Zachary was admired by classmates and teachers alike for his intelligence, kindness, and compassionate spirit. He went on to pursue a career as a Mechanical Technician at Infiniti of Charlotte, where his dedication and skill left a lasting impact.
Beyond his professional life, Zachary was remembered as a warm and humorous young man whose presence brought comfort and joy to family, friends, and colleagues.
In a heartfelt tribute, his father shared:
“There are no words strong enough to carry the weight of what I feel right now. Two days ago, you left this world, and I have been left searching through memories, love, and questions that have no answers. I want you to know that you are, and always will be, deeply loved. From the moment I first held you, to every laugh we shared, you brought light into my life. Your presence was a gift, and nothing—not even death—can take that away.”

While grieving, Zachary’s family has chosen to honor his memory by raising awareness about the dangers of scams and exploitation. His father has pledged to transform personal pain into a mission of protection and advocacy, vowing that Zachary’s story will serve as a beacon for others.
